What are people saying about Prime?

"Prime changed my life. Not only did I gain the knowledge needed to begin my career in the web development industry, but I also gained confidence and friendships of a lifetime."
"I arrived at Prime due to a potent mix of curiosity and desperation - I had always been fascinated by coding but I never believed I'd be able to learn it without a LOT OF HELP. I got that help at Prime and a hell of a lot more. The support I received and continue to receive from Prime staff has been life-changing."
"At some point in life everyone has a moment they can pinpoint as being completely life altering, mine was my acceptance into Prime. I started Prime as a college drop-out floating through life with no idea of what to do. I left a completely different person. I'm strong, confident (most days), independent, and I feel prepared for the future."

Recursive Awesome
The students from Prime are immersed in real-world software development experience. These are the type of students you should be looking at having within your organization. Employees who are agile, think differently and bring a diverse background of experiences to their job.

CRC

Seeing so many folks truly interested in development because of what it allows them to do and how it allows them to solve problems is a refreshing change to the average 4-year program candidate.
Empulse
Prime teaches students how to think like a developer in ways that can't ever be taught in a traditional classroom. The methods of collaboration they learn is incredibly well aligned with a professional position and with those skills, they can quickly come up to speed on any technology they may appear 'light' in.
Nerdery
We are always looking for smart people who’ve taken the initiative to learn to program. A traditional computer science background is a lot less important to us than a passion for problem solving and the ability to do the work.
Granicus
Software engineers are at the heart of GovDelivery’s business, and Prime’s program is an innovative solution to developing more of them the Minnesota way—by tapping the amazing talent pool we already have. We believe Prime can connect hundreds of new people with rewarding careers in technology and that it will be a competitive asset to our business and the State of Minnesota.

Midwest x Tech Talent

Prime is proud to be helping the midwest develop tech talent to address the growing need in our economies. The Department of Employment and Economic Development predicts that more than 200,000 new tech jobs will be created in Minnesota alone in the next decade. Competition for talent is already at or near all-time highs with negative unemployment in some areas. This environment has encouraged employers to embrace non-traditional sources for talent and discover the benefits of building a team with more diverse backgrounds. Prime is part of the innovative MSP TechHire coalition that is working to help develop the talent businesses need while creating opportunities for groups underrepresented in our tech economy.

How is Prime Different?

REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE

The rapid advancement of technology means that designers and developers are constantly asked to tackle problems they’ve never seen before. Accordingly, continuous learning in the face of ambiguous problems is a critical skill. Prime tackles this head on by engaging students on real-world projects within the curriculum. Alumni leave Prime with actual client projects in their portfolios and the confidence they can tackle the demands of the job.

INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH TRAINING

Prime was born right here in the midwest's software industry and is focused on helping technologists who want to build a career here. Armed with feedback and partnership from hundreds of local employers hungry for tech talent, Prime leverages these connections to ensure our curriculum keeps up with the rapid changes in our local industry.

HUMAN CENTERED EDUCATION

Success as a tech professional demands a lot more than technical know-how. Prime has become known for its dedication to a human-centered educational philosophy which values communication, collaboration, problem solving and peer interactions as much as technologies and methodologies. Prime graduates fly in the face of industry stereotypes by wielding technology and empathy with equal acumen.
